D'arcy is our first Welsh Springer Spaniel and has been a delight from the moment we first set eyes on him.

He certainly did us proud - first at obedience where he charmed absolutely everyone and passed his Ideal Dogs Test easily, then in the show ring winning several In Group awards, siring our first litter, the Maesgwyn Precious Gems and gaining his Tracking Dog (TD) title.

D’arcy had beautiful movement and an elegance that, we believe, the breed is starting to lose.

D'arcy semi-retired from the showring at around 9 years old and would come out for the occasional veterans class where he would proudly hold his own against much younger dogs.

In 2013, D'arcy took up tracking and the sprightly age of 14.5 years and gained his TD title despite being virtually deaf with sight in only one eye. He won quite a few hearts along the way and again showed what a special boy he is. He also won the Tracking Club of Victoria Old Gold Trophy.

We farewelled our lovely boy on 3 February - one week after his 15th birthday and just two weeks after his great grand children, the Maesgwyn Royal Peers litter was whelped.  He will be forever missed and always remembered.
