Duke is Trouble with a capital T and simply delightful - all at the same time! He is cheeky and affectionate and charms everyone he meets - people and dogs alike. He is like an Eveready battery which never stops and is into everything and is phased by nothing.
Duke took to the showring very easily and was winning Best of Breed over adult dogs at a very early age.
He was Best of Breed at the Adelaide Royal for four years in a row in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 - handled by our good friend Cheryl Harding and has also won a RUBOB and Best of Breed at the Melbourne Royal. He has also won several in group awards and Best in Show at the Rarer Gundog Spaniel Club Championship Show, October 2010 and 2013.
He has sired four litters for Tazlon Kennels, Cochagwyn Kennels, Espress Kennels and our own Maesgwyn Royal Peers litter. Duke's progeny have also done very well indeed.
Duke appeared in the Pedigree Dentastix commerical. You can see the commercial onhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpwdAaCq0n8&feature=player_embedded - look for him at the end of the commercial.
In 2014 he joined the tracking team and has followed in his mother Buffy’s and grandfather, D’arcy’s footsteps and gained his TD title.
Duke lived to the grand age of 16 years and 7 months.
